Flow Yoga is usually a blend of yoga postures done in a sequence
Some examples of flow yoga sequences are below. They are all sun salutation flows that you can practice. There are many yoga flows in a yoga sequence but most often the begin with Sun Salutations.
Many times flows are done with the breath. You can move with an inhalation or exhalation. If the lungs are being suppressed during a motion it is best to exhale, this happens in Cobra pose but we usually inhale into it, but during backbends this rule quite often does not apply. There is no real rule. Once you understand the fundamentals of flow yoga you may want to change it and may even find yourself exhaling into your next Cobra pose.
In flow yoga classes you often find yourself holding yoga poses. The truth is some flow yoga classes have a lot more flow than others.
All the movenemts are done during an inhalation or exhalation below. Can you guess when a movement is done with an inhalation and when one is done with an exhalation?
Study the yoga sequences below and try to figure out the breathing that's done during the motion before finding out. See some printable home yoga sequences or print out Vinyasa Yoga cards.
