The pose shown is a variation of The Cobra Pose. It is designed to open the muscles on the inside of the legs. When you can get the groin to the floor poses like the Triangle, Warrior 2 and Half Moon become easier.

It is necessary to choose the safest and most effective postures when performing a yoga sequence. When flexibility is gained the asanas do not harbor internal resistance.
