This is the Boat pose. It is done for core abdominal strength.

This pose can aggravate your back pain because of the weight of the legs. It may not be a good yoga pose too perform.

If you cannot do this posture comfortably do it with the legs against a wall.

The hands can be down for support.

The knees can be bent for ease and less weight on the spine caused by the legs.
